Beginning

The Brother Group was formed in 1908 when Kanekichi Yasui opened a sewing machine repair shop. Later, Masayoshi, Kanekichi’s son, took over the family firm and started to have a strong desire to produce sewing machines domestically in Japan in order to transform the industry from one that was dependent on imports into one that was dependent on exports.

1950’s
